Although after seeing the NPD numbers for april this is true, but shouldn't we wait for the May numbers before jumping on that bandwagon. I think it's safe to say we do not yet have a clear picture of the GTA sales effect quite yet. If may's numbers come in Big, Statements like this look foolish.

Actually, I'm talking about the European numbers, since the GTAIV bundle was only available there AFAIK. While we did see a decent rise in sales, there certainly wasn't a massive spike in sales.

And neither VGC or NPD showed a massive spike in sales. So even if May sales improve, it's probably not going to be anywhere near what some people predicted.

I'm not saying there won't be a good rise in sales for MGS4, but if anything is to be learned, you shouldn't count your chickens before they are hatched. Especially some of the bigger fanboys were way off, see the GTAIV is the death of the Wii thread for reference.


Hardware sales spiked a lot more in UK than in US:
