I don't think the franchise will be reacquired by Marvel for a very long time. Unlike Sony with Spider-Man, the Fox X-Men movies actually do pretty well commercially and critically.

Deadpool just became the highest grossing in the X-men franchise which says a lot.

Spider-Man has actually done pretty well, every film has grossed over 700 million WW. Now Sony just wants to get in the same bed with MCU to earn more money with less effort.
