As I expected actually. I don't expect it to do that well in terms of box office but I reckon it will at least give the game a second wind.

The game just came out two weeks ago/like three days ago in most of Europe! It's more of an extended wind really!

It'll only help the game though, even though the game has outperformed any other game in the series in sales thus far.

A lot of the movies' scenes doubled down as cutscenes in the game though, so this movies' budget is certainly not on the level of many of the big budget animation film.

I would still imagine it not being below 50 million budget, the lowest animation budget I think I seen on big screen movie is like 30 million, but those are not really on the same level as this movie and the higher on the list. I would be very surprised if the budget of this film is not 60-80 million when it comes out.

The game and film have been stated numerous times to share a $40m budget. The film, I believe, got $25 specifically but that was never confirmed outright. The game alone likely already made most of the budget back based on preliminary sales statements (best Ratchet launch everywhere it's launched thus far, number one in UK last week, etc.). That's not accounting for the marketing, of course, since that figure is unknown. The game alone is going to make back the budget for both, marketing included, by the time the next game hits in late 2017/early 2018 though, I'm sure, since it's very likely going to break 2m sales at least.

Edit: Nevermind my recollection was flipped. The film was $15m, the game $25m, as noted above.
