Wut ? Dual Typing halving the STAB ?? Since when ?
STAB was only halved moving from V gen to VI gen for balancing purposes, this is the first time I hear about this and I'm really skeptical towards it... /OT
I think it could work, but only with a handful of types, said abilities related to Fire, Steel, Poison, Ghost and Fairy would be broken AF.
On the other hand many pokémon would love to get the ice one just to get that one ice resistance (I say Ice because it's one of the few that would't be broken if added). Honestly at this point I'd much prefer Game Freak to directly add a third type to certain pokémon and say "the third type is not as dominant as the other two so it gives x, y and z differences from the regular dual typing". In the end we've already seen plenty of Pokémon that should have 3 types, see Gyarados, Blaziken, Flygon, Venomoth etc.
