Very well, you got me. There were terrorist attacks in the past (granted less frequentely and with less casualties). I tip my hat to you.

The only terror attacks in Europe period pre-2005 were from local groups like the IRA and Basque seperartists, the war in Croatia-Bosnia aside. 

Terror attacks in Europe is a very recent event, really specifically in the last 6-8 years in specific. 

I'd say school/theater shootings also qualify as terror attacks though, in which case there have been several in the US.
