This is the sad reality, mobile gaming makes more money than the biggest games on dedicated consoles or PC. The casual market is just too great compared to the hardcore market.

Does it really though? According to this data mobile games revenue has only beat PC and is still behind console. Considering the majority of the biggest games are console/pc releases rather than just one or the other they'd still be a long way ahead of mobile revenue, no?

Besides that there's also the quantity aspect of it. I've no doubt there are a huge number more mobile games released every year than console or pc, meaning the average spend per game is probably a fair bit higher on console/pc than mobile too.

True enough, but at this rate it seems like mobile will definitely do even better as time passes by. Also most mobile games don't cost as much as games on consoles or PC and can easily make a profit quicker and in turn makes more money for the developer.
