I was assuming this unit will be more expensive than current PS4/ what a "slim" update 4.0 would cost,
and that would lead to lost sales when they would want to be accelerating adoption of their platform.
Especially outside of US/EU market i.e. poorer countries with more cost conscious mass market, that counts.
I guess it's possible it could cost the same as current PS4 taking into account process updates,
although those should also work on 4.0 spec (to help lower the price further).
They probably could go either way honestly, so I guess we'll see

I just don't see them making two different skus with two different APUs..... I think the PS4k is basically the equivalent of having a PS4 slim. they were going to redesign the console anyways so rather than just go the make it smaller and put in more HDD they opted to make it smaller and more powerful. because even right now if they wanted to make the Current PS4 smaller by about a quater of its size they could.
Anyways,I expect the PS4k will come in at $350/$399 and th e price of the base ps4 will drop to $299 (while stock lasts)
