It's good to hear that Sony is being very firm about not alienating base owners. I do still worry that optimization and performance will suffer on some titles, but then the base model will still be the much larger market they'll need to cater to.
I'm curious to see where this new power will be allocated. Doesn't look like Neo is a big enough leap to suddenly run demanding 30fps titles at 60fps and different graphics assets might just annoy both developers and consumers. The simplest allocation would definitely be just turning up the resolution, but you have to wonder how many customers will own screens to even support that. Still, more stable frame rates with super sampled image quality does sound nice.
