So where does Dark Souls 3 fall?

As long as your shield blocks 100% of physical dmg - nearly all of these 100% physical defence shields require 14 strength - then you won't take damage. Enemies that do elemental damage is another story as you'll block the physical dmg but take dmg from the elements.

 

Yeah, I've worked out the shield system now, but I barely use it. I'm 2 handing the Great Hollow Sword mostly as it's pretty quick for a great sword (lighter than the Claymore) and does more damage. 

 

I've got a shield but only use it when I fight enemies with Shields. Outside of that in loving the longbow!
