I had the same experience, however haven't picked it up since. The excessive blur, instant death obstacles and uncomfortable gamepad controls (the game physically hurt to play after a while) had me put it away and forget about it somewhere in the second cup or speed. 6/10 from me.
I would recommend Track Mania Turbo instead, more fun, no blur, 100 player online lobbies are crazy. (you race against up to 100 ghosts at the same time, set best time in 5 minutes)
