It's also targeting anyone that might be tempted by the potential power upgrade of the NX or an updated Xbox 1.5 which is supposedly in prototype phase about now. It's a jump ahead move to stay more relevant than their competitors (and also help with VR), and whether that ends up being a wise or foolish decision we have yet to see.
I'm with Low Wagon though, I don't plan to buy it at launch, unless it starts outputting the big games I own now at 60fps and the equivalent of PC settings on High (which seems doubtful for more than a handful of them).
