Is the outrage towards PS4K proof that console gamers care more about performance and visuals than they're willing to admit?

Dunno what the outrage is exactly.

It's quite clear in my mind that the PS4K is almost entirely being made so that the PS4 can compete with PC on VR. I think that's pretty much the only reason. Developers won't do too much more in terms of graphics because they won't want to ditch that 40 million userbase.
