One console won't be enough anymore. The quality of games released on it will probably be lower than it is now, at least in some regards (framerate, possible resolution). And who wouldn't want the new model anyway once it comes out, even if the games for the current model didn't lose their quality? It seems quite natural to want better things when they're available (the phone market is an excellent example of this).
