Few things:

They haven't and won't rule the possibility simply because its foolish to eliminate options when you have no forced reason to do so. It's certainly low on their priorities right now but things can change and change quickly when they do.

When they do cut price it won't be $100 (like I've been saying for about 6 months now). It will likely be a $50 cut.
