Its not a matter of people no longer being interested in Zelda, its just that people know next to nothing about it. Once Nintendo starts showing off and sharing details about the game, the hype will increase dramatically.

A big re-reveal at E3 followed up by a steady stream of continued details will get the game back into hype mode.

There is a difference between a game not having much hype because not much is known about it & a game not having much hype because they dont care or have given up on it.
