As someone who has lived through the leadup to every 3D Zelda game, I can't remember there ever being less hype for one than there is for Zelda U right now. After nearly a year and a half of radio silence, it's not even on the radar for those who aren't hardcore Nintendo fans.

Most gamers simply don't care, they're too busy salivating for games like Uncharted 4 or Final Fantasy XV. Hell, even Horizon Zero Dawn seems to have more hype behind it, and that's a new IP. Let that sink in for a moment; a game from a completely unproven franchise is getting more hype than a series that's been running for 30 years and includes some of the most revered games in history. That speaks volume about how dreadful Nintendo's handling of Zelda U is.

We are presumably 7 months out from the release of a new main line Zelda. On this date a decade ago, we were 7 months out from the release of Twilight Princess, and the hype was through the roof. Now, the hype train for Zelda U has ground to a halt because it's run out of coal and the railway service is too stingy to resupply it, and its prospective passengers are giving up on it and taking the bus instead.

this is also the 3d Zelda that has the least told about it. Its weird, we know virtually nothing about the game and its supposed to be coming this year. Hell i think we at least knew the title of all the other Zeldas by this time.
