Well, depends on what you mean by "American". The slave trade I'm talking about would be african slaves being sent to swedish colonies in america. That happened with the Danish-Norwegian colonies at least.

I guess my definition would consider those colonies "American" since they were colonies. And sure, not all colonies stayed in the country, but my family stayed in Sweden for a long while, after the slave trade. However on my dads side they went from Sweden to Canada about 150 years ago and the went to America in the late 70's
