Disney makes peanuts at the box office. Like literally, they hardly even care, the real money is from merch, amusement parks and ESPN et al. |
Exactly, if anything they care more about the parks than they do the movies and have recently gone well out of their way to give Hollywood studios multiple new attractions while also removing some to change the parks general appearance (though it's sad they removed some good attractions/rides), they make a shit ton from all their parks combined each year.
This even proves your point on the products and interactive media: https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/the-walt-disney-company-reports-record-quarterly-earnings-for-the-first-quarter-of-fiscal-2016/
Also look at all those plans they have in store for the multiple parks, it's insane: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/08/live-updates-from-walt-disney-parks-and-resorts-presentation-at-2015-d23-expo/
(Huge Disney/Universal/Sea world park fan btw)
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
