It's probably more than 75% that don't need the additional storage space.

But it's that minority percentage that's the most vocal about this shortcoming of the Wii. And it's a legitimate concern, particularly for those who are already deleting data off their console to make room for new saves and downloads.

But just using myself as an example, who has most likely purchased more VC games than the average user and currently has more physical media softs than the average attach rate, still have enough space for future game saves.

Now if I start downloading Wii Ware games, then I will probably have some problems. So if Wii Ware is something Nintendo is serious about using to push DD games, they are not doing well in addressing the future.

I don't personally see the need for additional hardware that only single digit percentages are likely to buy. It would be nice for some to be able to buy another Wii peripheral, but all Nintendo really has to do rather than go through the logistical process of sourcing, marketing and shipping an add on product, is write a firmware update for the OS to allow the use of any generic USB storage device and devise a reliable form of DRM to prevent widespread abuse by the average user.

Game saves (or any data that may be user duplicated) should be capable of being played off SD card. If speed is an issue, they could release high speed updates to the official Wii SD cards already being sold.
