If Nintendo is putting a screen on the controller they damn well better get the suppliers to bend over backwards and give them a good price. It's 2016 now, 1080p displays for tablets/phones are becoming outdated, Nintendo should have every right to ask for a low price on a display that's sub-1080p.

The controller should not cost $100 to mass produce even with a screen on it, that's unacceptable. Even full blown tablets with dedicated processors/GPUs/RAM/onboard storage cost $100 at *retail*, Nintendo should not accept anything above $50-$55 manufacturing cost.

I think Nintendo's grown too nice with their component price negotiating perhaps ... Yamauchi was a ruthless SOB when it came to that, he'd even cut deals and then back out of them insisting on better terms afterwards, lol.

I like the idea of swappable controller face plates that are transparent with the LCD underneath. You could have all types of different controller schemes, maybe even weird ones like a trackball with 2 buttons or something. Face plates could even come bundled with certain games depending on what the game is.
