It's actually a fact, the majority of Wii owners don't need a harddrive, and will never download enough crap to fill up the space already on their Wii's to begin with.

Do any of you really believe that's not true?

As for dtwei, Nintendo is working on a solution, or so they say, calling Nintendo stupid? Honestly, I don't see how you came to that conclusion. I for one don't think your argument holds water, and on top of that, what are we supposed to think about you when you call Nintendo's marketing and PR "stupid" but defend Sony's or Microsoft's? Aren't they really the "stupid" ones from a business perspective, if anyone is?

The decision to lower the storage in the Wii is obviously to keep the cost of the console down. I think that worked pretty well.

And when 75 percent of the Wii userbase has absolutly no need for any additional space, and when Nintendo says that in a Press Release, right alongside the other thing they say, which is "We're working on it for the other 25 percent though, just to keep them happy," I don't see where you get "stupid" from.

Sounds like the average internet argument that had about 10 seconds of thought put into it, which resulted in a really offensive, generic, and ironic post.

That is true consider the fact that as far as VC games go and WiiWare are concerned what was it last 2-million Wii owners online. So out of the 25-million Wii owners only about 2-million of them are downloading content. This means that the small minority that is downloading content should not be Nintendo's first priority.

Well some Nintendo reps are stupid especially those in Europe not because they are idiots but because they are never in the loop. Nintendo Of Japan knows everything Nintendo Of America knows about half of what Nintendo Of Japan knows and Nintendo Of Europe is lucky to know anything at all. However Nintendo Of Europe always claims they do know what they are talking about.

Nintendo's system of information distibution is stupid. I'm sorry but it is, Nintendo Of Canada for example runs all of its own operations. However you can't contact Nintendo Of Canada you can only contact Nintendo Of America. This leads to Nintendo Of America telling you that they don't know what Nintendo of Canada is doing. The lack of information to Nintendo's different branches is a major set  back and stupid that after all of these years Nintendo still can't co-ordinate its staff.

One rep in one country says one thing while another in another country says something totally different. I have learnt not to listen to Nintendo Of Europe reps at all I mean in ONM they confirmed EarthBound Mother 3 for GBA, they confirmed ExiteTruck2 and they said their would be no NintendoDS:Lite a day after Nintendo announced it in Japan. Nintendo Of Europe claimed to GamesIndustry.biz that the new DS was only a rumour and not actually happening their will be no knew model. Since then ONM and Nintendo's European reps have made one announcement after another that turn out to be entirely false or fabricated.
