I tried watching it again with a friend, recently. It really didn't hold up for me. I couldn't understand why people didn't like it at the time but on its own, it's a pretty hollow film now. Yea I think what made it worse is that I've never really been a captain america fan. Just never really liked his character. I was literally almost falling alseep towards the end of the movie. Which is why I was very very surprised at how good Cap 2 was. Probably the best marvel movie so far it was just amazing. Number 3 also looks like it's going to be amazing.
