Posting again.

I remember in 1992 when DC killed Superman. They said it was always easy to kill him but hen what? They weren't going to kill him until they had the right story.

Superman's death at the hands of some motiveless random generic creature was just the beginning of the story, not THE story! The real story was the world without a Superman, the funeral for a friend, the reign of the Supermen, and his inevitable return! The "Doomsday" storyline didn't have any story whatsoever. It was just a big fight in anticipation the guy we never thought could die actually died.

We know in BvS Superman was coming back. The last shot was unmistakable. The real story is what happens next. Like Star Wars VII, it's just the next chapter in a series but also a stand alone film. There are questions. Those questions will be answered. Be patient.

Movies work differently. A Crowd in a theater have a shorter amount of time to get to know a character. Most of the people who watch the movie vaguely understand the concept of superman and his persona. In order to get them to understand superman on screen you must find ways to humanize him. For thirty years on earth displayed in man of steel he was not humanized but we got to see him grow into the person who his parents wanted him to become which is a protector who will be misunderstood and thus needed to be intellectually shielded.

in a movie the best way to have people care about a pending death is to build up their value before you take the character from the people. I believe marvel will use this methodology for captain America.
