Ahem, the game is paper, so of course it's going to have that 'paper' feel and it is definitely not lazy. There was a lot of work put into it to make it feel like a paper crafted world done by a person in great detail. You can see the inbetween parts of cardboard, the texture of the construction paper, and the layers as well. It really does feel like a 3D space with a sort of depth, unlike previous Paper Mario games. Also, it still has RPG elements, just not in the traditional sense. There's still turn based combat, but done in a different way. And all your reasons why it's not a Mario game lack weight. The game is not even released, so are your claims are just baseless. Just wait for the game to come out before making such claims

Also, basing your evidence on the like/dislikes on the reveal video don't help you either. There is still a fair size of people who seem excited, and the other videos by GameXplain, the thoughts and impressions and analysis videos, those dislikes are shrunken to a very small size while the likes are even higher than that of the dislikes of the initial reveal.

There was a lot of work put into it you say, I'm curious to know how you know that. Regardless, the whole point behind the Paper theme to begin with was to make the game easier to develop. Yes the game is different, in a bad way. Stripping away what makes a game great is naturally only going to make it worse. The game doesn't need to be released, the trailer already showed us what it is, Sticker Star 2. Literally everything shown from the characters to the battle system to the game progression is the same, hell Mario is even mute again. The game would have to be completely overhauled to be good at this point.

Those videos are content created by GameXplain. You can still like their discussion while hating the discussion topic.

I know that because the visuals are all there in the reveal trailer. Everything I have said about it had been from the footage, and not something I am assuming. This is just the beginning too. I imagine they can do even more with the paper aesthetics. And the idea of making it a paper theme was just the team loving the look and idea of the concept, looking like a sort of picture book, so they went with it. It wasn't to make development easier. I don't see anything that makes it bad. I just see a game with an interesting idea with a lot of potential. I'd like to know why it's different in a bad way. Also, as far as I know, Mario has always been mute in the game.

The video may have been made by GameXplain, but it doesn't change the fact that it focuses on Paper Mario, as well as turning some of that doubt into interest.
