It will matter from day 1. No one gets excited for a system that's basically the same thing as something else that launched 3-4 years earlier?

Would you be excited about the smartphone that's as powerful as iPhone 5? Yeah it can run the same apps, but so what?

This strategy only works if you have a groundbreaking, earth shattering, stop everything you have to try this type of other aspect to their hardware like the Wiimote was to the year 2006.

PS4/XB1 is crap hardware by today's standards, even Sony is apparently making something double the PS4 for $400 in PS4K, you will have tablets as powerful as the XB1 at least quite soon.

You'd have to be absolutely out of your mind to believe that the PS4K is going to be twice the power of the PS4 for only $400. And you have to be seriously living under a rock if you genuinely think the NX is going to be the same thing as the PS4/XBO. Right. Nintendo plans to "redefine what it means to be a video game platform" by making a redundant piece of hardware.

Nintendo says a lot of things. The Wii U was going "redefine" the living room according to Nintendo.

And Sony has a fairly established history of selling fairly high end hardware at relatively affordable prices, we'll see what the 4K costs, but a lot of its performance improvement likely will come from natural evolution of GPU design, PS4's GPU is 3-4 years old, something 2x better is not going to cost 2x more.
