If you consider performance strictly from a pixel-pushing point of view:

Star Fox Zero

(854x480) + (1280 x 720) = 1,331,520  Total pixels per frame

For comparison, a 900p game would have:

(1600 x 900) = 1,440,000 Total pixels per frame.

We have to remember that the Wii U is a full generation behind the XOne and PS4 in power and so getting anything close to 900p to run on its hardware would require huge sacrifices.  I am personally impressed that Platinum managed to get the graphics to look as good as they do in Star Fox Zero.

Wii U has a better graphic processor than PS360, but also a weaker CPU. It has more RAM, but is slower than the one in PS360. So... pretty much a 7th gen console power wise. It has more in common with 7th gen than 8th.
