Yes it still has the lazy paper aesthetic, but otherwise it's not a Paper Mario game in literally every other way. The direct didn't even try to deny it, openly calling it an action adventure game, not an RPG. No partners are barely even a fraction of what's missing. Overall the game lacks characters, story, a cohesive connected world, a sense of progression, a competent battle system, a reason to even battle, I could go on and get really in depth, but basically the game is stripped of what made Paper Mario, Paper Mario. We saw the footage so we can be certain it's essentially Sticker Star 2, just replace Kertsi with a bucket and stickers with cards and paint. I can't speak for everyone of course but from what I've seen the majority do not want. I'ma check where the dislike bar for the reveal trailer is at now.
