We always discuss Castlevania as one of the greatest videogames series of all times, even though the transition to full 3D has been somewhat a tough ride.

We also talk about how Symphony of the Night seems to be everyone's favourite and the most beloved game in the chain (mine is the original, with "Symphony" and "IV" tied as close seconds - IV would be second had it not been that easy).

Elegant soundtracks have also been a trademark, especially, for most, after Symphony's release.

But I feel that even though, quality wise, nothing could beat Symphony's music quality (CD vs cartridges) at its time, Castlevania IV has always struck me as the game with the most elegant music of them all. So, I am not talking music sound quality, but elegance. And "IV" seems, to me, to have the most refined compositions of all the series. Sure, "Wood Carving Partita" and "Dance of Pales" both drive me crazy, but even then I feel that IV had more of this kind of music. Just take first and second stages and their musics to see (or hear lol) what I mean.

So, here is my top five. Remember, music elegancy rather than quality is what counts here.

1. Castlevania IV

2. Symphony of the Night

3. Simon's quest

4. Castlevania

5. Circle of the Moon
