I see some user saying splatoon, but i believe a second iteration would be acceptable, possible and better. On the other hand maybe Nintendo never excepted it to be such a success and only started to think in the sequel too late.
Smash on the other hand is just too soon for another one, and Mario Kart is almost in the same boat.
Since Zelda is one of the four, the fourth needs to be a Mario game, either SMM or SM3DW.
My bet is:
- Smash: complete edition
- Mario Kart 8: complete edition
- Zelda
- SM3DW/SMM (maybe both)
Other possibilities
- Paper Mario/Xenoblade/FExSMT: Those 3 IPs pretty much is what nintendo has of first party RPG. To have all of them released at the end of Wii U life and not port at least one would mean no first party RPGs on NX for a while. Paper Mario is the obvious front runner, but xenoblade could better showcase the hardware difference. I doubt FExSMT would be ported (by Nintendo at least, maybe ATLUS).
Maybe Nintendo has a cannon FE in development and make this whole statement null, but who knows.
