There was some innocent crushing going on in Spirit Tracks though.
OT Nintendo, would probably want to keep the romance between the two low key. Would be really interesting if they have a model for a male Zelda though to keep the romance possible. And if this is a reboot of Zelda 1 or alternative time branch then maybe all the main characters have gender swap so romantic relationship between Link and Zelda in any gender timeline can work.
