If (and this is a big if) the NX is more powerful than a PS4 maybe 1440p resolution would be possible if they're basically just using Wii U assets. 

And what is point of 1440p resolution in 2016, who actually have TV with 1440p resolution!? Wii U was mostly 720p/60fps hardware, Nintendo with NX probably aiming 1080p/60FPS with 4K support for media, no way they will make 1440p games.
