Link as a girl? Linkle?
If it makes no difference in how the game plays - that's all good by me. Let's be honest: neither SJWs or GamerGaters want any kind of 'oh woe is me, imma girl' storyline. Let's hope Nintendo learned that lesson from Other M already.
I am concerned that strong traditional male protagonist leads seem to be growing ever more scarce in the Zelda franchise. Look no further than Hyrule Warriors cast list to see what I mean. IMHO Link's adventures have been at their best when it's woven into a coming-of-age tale of a boy becoming a man. When you insist to make Link a girl/woman, you might end up with a storyline that has no male protagonists -or rather a game full of female and very effeminate male protagonists (ex: Tingle) and mostly male antagonists. That could lead to some incoherent coming-of-age themes and storyline.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
