If all you care about is preservation, you can just pirate those games. There's nothing to convince you. Yes, if the literal worse case scenario happens and your system dies (and it will) decades into the future when Nintendo is long gone, then you lost those games and you're basically fucked.
But those games will be available either for free (legally) or for cents by the time that happens, and they will all be available in multiple forms by that time because they will be historical pieces like old Mickey Mouse cartoons.
