Yes, Man of Steel was the first chapter, but DoJ is the first DC film to introduce the MCU concept of serialized films with an ensemble cast.

I would personally like to see DoJ hit that mark as I really enjoyed it and intend to see it again on IMAX 3D, but let's face it; it was no Avengers as far as making the positive impact its handlers intended. I don't see it happening, but WB will forge ahead with the DCEU and will likely be receptive to the criticism in making adjustments.

Part of me wants to say that so many of the complaints centered around the plot being overly complex and the overall tone of the film completely lacking in humor, making it the polar opposite of the beloved MCU.

If so, it should be interesting to see the reception of Suicide Squad which appears to focus on offbeat humor, a smaller world and simpler plot with characters that have simpler motivations.
