About the 10 years this game was in development, like some people said: that's only half true. While the start of development might have been 2006 and now we have 2016 which makes 10 years, SE didn't work on it all the entire time. When they revealed it, which was way too early and they admitted that themselves, they had only a couple of ideas and a logo, nothing else. You could think that they began working on it seriously in the years after that, but they didn't come over early build ups. Staff got pulled to other projects that were considered more relevant through all those ten years, like the FFXIII sequels and the KH games. In those times, only a handful of developers might have been working on it, if at all. And you also have to take into account that Nomura might be a brilliant designer, but he tends to perfectionism and is never satisfied with his own work, so he rebuilds or cuts a lot of scenes/concepts that were already finished. That's why the game changed in every trailer that was shown in the meantime. With Tabata set in place, the progress came faster. So yeah, assuming that they developed it for 10 years isn't the whole picture.
