I know what you mean. I have lots of PS3 games but I'd say they are more generic. A few CoDs, ME series, stuff like that. IYet I'm guessing it's because you could afford it, like you mention in the opening post. Back in my PS2 days, I was at Uni and latter parts of it, looking for a job. I had no money to go out and buy every game. I think in the last few years 2006 - 2007, I only bought like 2 games for the PS2, Valkyrie Profile 2 and FF12. Both great games and in a sense and end of an era for gaming. JRPGs took a real hit in the 7th Gen for me. I think I bought like 1 JRPG last gen and that was FF13 and well... you know. Look out for Shadow Hearts Coventant, it seems highly sought after, I've yet to be able to get a copy but then I'm kind of not will to pay £25+ for a 11 year old game, collectable or not (didn't pay over £15 for any of my Ps1 games, I think Kurushi was my most expensive, 'tis the reason I've yet to buy the Discworld PS1 games). |
Yes,many shooters, racing games and not so good jrpgs on the ps3,the old school ps1/2 days jrpgs went to the nds and psp etc.
Dont know what happend but from one year to another jrpgs went from epic to blame lame, bad,fan serviced, over the rop combat systems with lame stories and ugly graphics (not including the tales of games/wkc 1 and 2) ff13 is the only one that looks amazing but..yea....lame.
Believe it or not i pretty much have all the high profile jrpgs on the ps2(not all of.them ofcourse)
I just don't...play them.
Somehow my brains thinks newer games are the better games.
Brain is wrong.
