Seems like a mix of old(health packs), new(double jump) and unique(starting off with rocket launchers etc). Even Quake 2 and 3 you started off with the default weapon and had to obtain the powerful guns which created a strategic element in location domination. This seems to have gone out the window which is sad and seems catered to please casual gamers by levelling the playing field to some extent much like how COD introduced specialist abilities to Black Ops 3 so that losing player could still feel some sense of power without having to build up score streaks.

Yeah, it feels like a mish mash of ideas, some of which I don't think most people want anymore like the health packs.

I don't really feel they leveled the playing field because skilled players seem to do really well with shotguns and rockets. Naturally players are gravitating to the powerful weapons that can one hit kill. Really not what I was expecting and again makes riles kinda useless.

I don't believe the multiplayer in this game is gonna do well. I think console gamers have made it clear they don't want this type of game. I'd rather play Unreal Tournament 3 but the population on that died years ago.

I agree that skilled players will do well regardless, but with everyone starting off with every powerful weapons, skilled players cannot prohibit less experienced(and other experienced) players from obtaining those weapons like they could in say Quake III or Unreal Tournament. I feel this way done on purpose in order to avoid casual gamers simply raging and quitting the game altogether. Just my opinion.

Chances are the over-powered weapons will be nerfed to some extent. Hell in Black Ops 3 some of the originally over-powered submachine guns(Vesper...) have been nerfed so far to oblivion that the increased recoil makes them essentially unusable!!
