objectively speaking how is Mario 3DWorld better than the previous entrys? I would like you to actually name some of its 'new' or 'improved' platforming components or levels.

better controls is obviously an argument you could make, but there just isn't a lot of new material or gameplay in 3Dworld.

And you couldn't argue that it had a better 'world' or 'setting' because how exactly would you describe it as a whole?  

Mario 3DWorld is more like an experiment by Nintendo. it certainly is not a groundbreaking games at all and every other mainline entry before it was far more revolutionary for the time (64, Sunshine, Galaxy). Nintendo from making big steps with Mario mainline games to making a very small step (and its arguably not forward)
