I think it will be a niche console tailored towards VR gaming. Apparently Sony's VR is lagging behind Oculus Rift because the ps4 isn't powerful enough to handle it. Nobody really knows how big a thing VR gaming will become and personally I don't think it will. We've seen with 3D that people just aren't going to wear glasses at home, let alone a freakin helmet to watch movies or play games. But if it does, then it makes sense that Sony wants to be ready for the market by releasing a ps4.5 that can handle more impressive VR games. However, I'm pretty sure that it won't have exclusive AAA games that won't be, or look like crap on ps4. They would be shooting themselves in the foot with a rocket launcher if they did that.
