Well maybe they got fucking sick of making shovelware. Some studios started out that way.

Could you name some examples of the companies who started like that?

Well I think I heard of a few, but nothing off the top of my head.

However, doesn't it make sense that the company would have enough programming experience to feel they could do better than all the sovelware they did?

True, they probably didn't have the skills to make a decent game at the time but now, their programming skills can help them make a decent game this time around with The Conduit.

 

BTW, even if they don't improve the textures much, it is at least already avoiding the Real Is Brown problem with so many FPS.
