PS3, GameCube, Saturn would be my 3 regrets, Wii U would have been a fourth, but Xenoblade Chronicles X and Mario Kart 8 made me feel a little satisfaction. I have been happy with every other console, but those three never really shone the way I thought they would, on top of being terribly disappointing. Microsoft is the only major hardware company that has never disappointed me, but to be fair, I've given them no opportunity to do so.
PS3 - cost a ton of money, and was a far cry from PS2 in terms of software. The main games I was interested in, like Final Fantasy 13, were hugely disappointing. Games that are supposed to be good, like RDR, just came off boring to me. I was pretty much convinced I had grown out of that kind of console gaming.
GameCube - similar tale to PS3. The games that came out for it reeked of derivitavity and inferiority when compared to previous entries in the series, or other ports/versions of the game. Games that were supposed to be great, like Metroid Prime, felt slow and boring to me. Others like Mario Kart and Mario Sunshine were painfully gimmicky. Plus, the controller was junk. The buttons were a jumbled mess of misshapeness, the triggers were noisy and springy (or difficult to find, like the z-trigger), the analog sticks were toy-like, and the d-pad was made for baby fingers.
Saturn - I didn't give it much of a chance, I only ever had 4 games for it, and barely played it. It was a collosal waste of money.
Wii U - again, just no games for it that are interesting. No triple A titles. I really liked Xenoblade, VC games like Earthbound, Mario Kart 8, so it is kind of like N64 where I was disappointed, but still not regretful I bought it.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
