Okay, what are the other options? |
Well personally i think the direction they are headed now seems like a good fit for them.
They have heavily hinted that they plan to unify their handheld & console. Basically seperate devices with the same/similar hardware available in different form factors that share a unified software library. A common problem for Nintendo is software droughts and this strategy helps solve that problem. It also allows for Nintendo to diversify their library by no longer needing to release 2 seperate entries of many franchises.
In addition to that they are expanding into other things like figurines/cards, mobile apps, theme park attractions, movies/series. The combination of these things have the potential to increase brand awareness which may in turn increase interest in their dedicated gaming hardware/software.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
