I don't think anyone claimed that Russia doesn't have an agenda or is not pursuing its own national interests. However, where I disagree is that what Russia is doing is against western interests, at least when it comes to fighting ISIS and Nusra(Al-Qaeda). Sure they are supporting Assad but when it comes to dead jihadis it is a win-win scenario. I can see why you may view Russia as the enemy as a Pole but the situation in Syria is a lot more complicated than for example in the Ukraine. |
It's not about seeing Russia as an enemy (which they obviously are). Just as I'm not going to teach you about the Aborigines and their antics, being Polish I understand their policy, mentality and their goals far better than you. I know their propaganda, their ways, things that you simply don't understand are absolutely transparent to me. It goes with being born and raised in this region and being part of this ethnic and cultural group. It's a similar case to knowing your sibling far better than anyone else.
The situation in Syria would have been far better, had Russia not entered it. A dead terrorist here and there won't change that fact.
