Meh, the prequels are just so poorly executed, the dialogue, acting, is so atrocious. TFA is maybe like dating a bit of a plain looking girl but she's nice enough and you have a good enough time. Maybe she's not the girl of your dreams but she's OK. The prequels are like dating a girl that may look a little better at first glance, but she can't go 10 minutes without ripping a loud fart and you notice half way through the date that she hasn't shaved her armpits. |
The prequels can be executed poorly, but the story, locations and tech is far above episode VII, like not even in the same universe. Every character fits in the SW universe.
On top of that, the protagonists on episode vii are bland and uninteresting. They are focusing too much on nostalgia with an actual awesome cast (Luke, Leia & Han) while the prequels created their own one (Anakin, Padme and Obi Wan).
The prequels never intended to be a copy of the original, they wanted to have thier own identity while episode VII it's like looking a goofy parody of Episode IV.
