I am going to take a lot of flack for this but I think it was a mistake for the gaming industry to rush beyond the 480p resolution so quickly because all we got was marginally better looking games and exponentially longer development timelines. Episodic releases, Day 1 DLC, micro-transactions and all the things that are ruining games today can all find their source in the monstrous development budgets that games require to become satisfying at 900p/1080p. I miss the days when we would get a Metroid Prime or Baten Kaitos game every 2 years. |

Theres no reason to spend more time or a higher budget, just because of resolution.
They could easily make a Xenoblade HD version that d be a peice of cake for the PS4 or Xbox One to run, and they wouldnt even need to change any assets from the org. game. They could just "upscale" it to a higher resolution, like dolphin does
