I would hope the hype is big everywhere. With people already wanting to jump on getting a new console, the NX is actually in a sweet spot. We know that it PROBABLY won't be a super beast of a powerhouse, but Nintendo is a company that above all else never has an identity issue (for better or worse).
That said, if it is a unique experience that is fun for gamers and they help 3rd parties through funding NX exclusive IPs on top of their 1st party line up, I can see a decent amount of people jumping to it.
I am not saying they will leave their PS4 or X1 for the NX, we don't need it to compete directly with them. We need to NX to be Unique enough for a multiplatform gamer to get and offer enough to be a main console as well for Nintendo fans who just want Nintendo consoles.
There is a lot of potential here and I like to think the hype is very real.
