I said this since last year when I traded in my old 3DS for a N3DS: the N3DS is a worth purchase if you purchased the 3DS at launch and/or have still to play some games on the system. The Improved online makes it so that if your internet connection is decent you can watch 3D videos/use the 3DS as a music player :v
