Dunno about you, but I've never seen a touchscreen that's round with holes.  In action it could look pretty new and high tech.

Also, it's better than the Gamepad because it's far easier to touch the screen without moving your hand from the stick position.  With the Gamepad you had to essentially stop what your doing and look down.  Interactive areas here could be right on top of the sticks, eliminating a major flaw from Wii U.

Uh no, even with it's many flaws, that has never been one of them, certainly not a "major" one. Unlike this ugly thing the gamepad actually has enough buttons to never need the touchscreen for additional inputs, and for both controllers you'd still have to look down for touch screen specific actions such as super jumping in Splatoon. Oh and you're still ignoring the inferior inputs and smaller screen, which are actual flaws, huge ones. Hell no am I playing Splatoon with nubs or Pokken without a D-pad.

you say it's not a flaw and then agree it's a flaw.  As it stands, the touch screen is mostly useless as an imput device because you have to switch your hand around.  This new NX pad allows you to use the analogue and touch screen at the same time.  Whether that's better than 4 buttons is debatable, but the lack of ability to do it with Wii U is not.
