Even if it was true, you have no way to know if it is or isn't. It's absolutely crazy to go in this world where you believe nothing. They said it. We have to assume it's true. That's just how it is. We can't assume a lie when we got no proof whatsoever.

Read the posts on the 2 prior pages before this, the article in OP leaves out the actual quotes. Nintendo say they intend to produce Wii U's for the next quarter and beyond (which translates into fiscal Q1 (ending June) and at least another quarter (ending september). They don't mention any fiscal year and there is no implication of them producing Wii U's beyond 2016.  Nor do they outright say the claim is false, simply that it is "not from the company" which is essentially a non statement.

If you put out a statement in response to a report/rumour, which actually reads like spin instead addressing the specifcs of the rumour (producing Wii U beyond 2016) then it likely because the rumour is true.
