Are console gamers more attracted to gimmicks than PC gamers?

This is a tricky question because I feel that 1. PC Gamers generally tend to be more "early adopter" and willing to try the new thing, gimmick/innovation/whatever but 2. Consoles generally tend to create products that require more "early adopter" mentality.
